AMD выпустила новую бета-версию драйвера Catalyst. Версия с номером 15.8 обеспечивает прирост производительности в играх Batman: Arkham Knight и Ashes of the Singularity. Последняя игра привлекла в эти дни к себе повышенное внимание из-за спора между студией разработчиков Oxide Games и NVIDIA, поскольку Oxide Games утверждает отсутствие поддержки асинхронных шейдеров под DirectX 12 в архитектуре Maxwell, что и послужило причиной меньшей производительности GPU NVIDIA.
Если верить документации, Catalyst 15.8 дает многочисленные улучшения в играх и приложениях, в том числе Adobe Lightroom, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Metal Gear Solid, Project Cars и многих других. Список известных ошибок сократился ненамного. AMD также подчеркивает интеграцию Oculus 0.7 SDK – виртуальная реальность будет играть все более значимую роль в маркетинге нынешних и будущих GPU AMD.
Catalyst 15.8 доступен под Windows 7, 8.1 и 10 в 32- и 64-битных версиях. Версия драйвера увеличилась до 15.201.1151. Драйвер поддерживает все настольные видеокарты линеек Radeon HD 5000, 6000, 7000 и 8000. Добавьте к ним старые обновленные видеокарты семейств R5, R7 и R9. Поддерживаются и некоторые мобильные GPU, а также APU. Полный список поддерживаемых графических процессоров приведен в документации AMD. Там же присутствуют ссылки на скачивание драйвера.
